Jungian Analysis

Jungian Analysis & Depth Psychotherapy

People often come to psychotherapy to reduce suffering or to address the painful sense of a life not fully lived. While it is natural to want relief, Jungian work asks a different question: What is this pain trying to reveal?

Rather than treating symptoms as enemies, we listen for the creativity and wisdom they carry from the depths of the unconscious.

A Psychology of the Soul

Following the Greek roots of the word psychotherapy — therapeia (tending) and psyche (soul) — this work can be understood as a psychology of the soul.

A soulful approach gives value to what lives closest to the unconscious, expressed symbolically in dreams, myths, images, symptoms, and synchronicities. The soul is like a stream flowing beneath the surface of awareness. We may not always see it, yet its presence quietly shapes our lives. When we encounter soul, even suffering can become a doorway to renewal.

Shadow work is also central to Jungian analysis. The shadow includes the parts of ourselves we’d rather ignore or disown. Left unattended, the shadow can harm us and others. Yet it is also a source of necessary energy and vitality. Facing and integrating the shadow can transform it into an ally on the journey toward maturity and wholeness.

Attempting to make sense of unconscious material alone is difficult — like trying to see your own back without a mirror. Working with a dedicated analyst offers companionship and reflection as you move through unknown psychological terrain.

Depth psychotherapy rests on the premise that when we engage with the unconscious psyche, it can act in our favor, helping to resolve inner conflicts and reveal the deeper, mythic layers from which a more meaningful life can emerge.
